MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

Technique serves music. Individuality creates artistry.

I believe that effective teaching begins with listening — not only to the instrument, but also to the musician behind it.

Every clarinetist brings a unique combination of abilities, experiences, musical instincts, and challenges. For this reason, I do not believe in a single approach that works equally for everyone.

My teaching is based on three principles:

Understanding before repetition.
Recognising the source of a problem is more valuable than practising without a clear direction.

Efficiency through awareness.
Technical development should promote physical freedom, reliability, and long-term progress.

Artistic independence.
The ultimate goal of teaching is to help musicians become confident, thoughtful, and independent interpreters.
